CVM is settled for a very long time in the valley of Chamonix : its presence goes back up to the thirties.

It began with the organization of camps of high school students and students with a double objective: make discover the mountain and exchange intellectually speaking and cultural with young people coming from all the regions of France, but also European countries, and stemming from all the social circles.

These rustic camps in old chalets in the mountain, acquired from their inhabitants who had joined the city, were supervised by voluntary people. These last ones constituted the skeleton of a dynamic association, worried of evolving according to the needs of the public : 1200 young people, at the height of the activity, benefited from stays of three weeks in the valley.

From the seventies, the association developed  social and family tourism. It opened its chalets to famillies, educational schooltrips , to young sportsmen, to young people with reintegration but also to individuals. Let different people live together in the chalets is still very important to the CVM.
Today, aware of the evolution of the demand, the association reorganizes gradually its chalets to improve the quality of the reception, while preserving conviviality and attractive prices.
The CVM is members of the national Union of the associations of tourism and outdoor activities ( UNAT) which includes associations, mutual and other companies of the non-profit social economy in the tourism.
